Every single one of the victims in Erdely’s stories a big incentive to fabricate a false story.

“Jackie” was failing several classes, “Billy” was arrested with a large amount of drugs, Officer Blumer was arrested for DUI.

They all stood to benefit from claiming rape, beyond simply bringing the accused to justice… It’s a potential get out of jail free card.

Now that in and of itself isn’t evidence that proves fabrication, and I’m not saying that’s necessarily the case… but it certainly establishes a potential motive. No serious investigator (whether they’re a journalist, law enforcement officer, or PI) in due dilligence could simply ignore that aspect.

#95 theasdgamer: “I was especially thinking of an example where a woman is explaining that her husband is at home cooking while she’s out dancing with other men. And that he likes science and history.”

Is that really “defending him” though? Sounds more like defending herself.

On another note, someone I know jokingly posted this on Facebook yesterday, and it immediately made me think of this “rape culture” hysteria.
